Resources for Free Income Tax Preparation and Filing
The due date for filing Federal income taxes is April 17, 2012, with state tax returns often due around the same time. For low-to-moderate income individuals and households, it is critical that important deductions and credits available to the individual or family, such as Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC), are noted. In addition, electronic filing (efiling) ensures returns are processed significantly faster as compared to paper filing.
