The Nebraska Contractor Registration Act requires contractors and subcontractors doing business in Nebraska to register with Nebraska Department of Labor.

Employment of Minors under sixteen
Nebraska Child Labor Law requires a person or corporation employing a minor under sixteen to have an employment certificate approved by a school officer and employers must post a Form 110 - NOTICE - Hours of Employment for Children Under Sixteen Years of Age. Learn more about these requirements here.

Employment Certificate for Minors under sixteen
School use this form to approve employment for minors under sixteen years of age.

Federal and State Posters
Nebraska and Federal laws require employers to display several mandated posters in a physical location where employees can easily see them. The posters provide safety, wages, benefit, and discrimination related information. There is no cost for the posters. They can be viewed and printed on the appropriate sizes (11 x 17 for all Nebraska posters).

File a Wage Complaint
Nebraska Labor Laws require employers to follow the Wage and Hour Act when paying their employees. If you believe your employer did not follow Wage and Hour Act, you can file a wage complaint. Submission of a complaint form does not guarantee that there will be an investigation. Your complaint will be reviewed and forwarded to an investigator should the Department find legitimate cause within its jurisdiction. You will receive an e-mail notice of the status of your complaint within approximately 3 days of submittal. Please be sure to complete the entire form and provide a written explanation of your complaint. Once you have completed the form, click "SUBMIT". You will be contacted via e-mail if additional documentation is required. Incomplete complaint forms will not be considered.
