The definitions for Metropolitan Statistical Areas have changed based on the 2000 Census commuting pattern information. Data for 2002 and prior are based on the 1990 Census commuting patterns. Data for 2003 forward are based on the 2000 Census commuting patterns, and are not comparable to prior years. More information about the area definition changes can be found here. View the current area definitions used in labor market information data. The Bureau of Labor Statistics industry classification system has changed. Because of this, as of 2001, estimates of Industry Employment, Hours, and Earnings, will be based upon the NAICS system. This will cause a series break. Prior years based upon the SIC system will not be comparable to the new system. |
