  • Funds are allocated by federal to local areas for job-preparation initiatives to help eligible adults with job training and employment opportunities by federal formula.
  • Funds are allocated by federal formula to local areas to provide summer jobs for disadvantaged youth up to age 24.

  • Two-thirds of these funds are to be used by the state for reemployment services for Unemployment Insurance claimants including the integrated Employment Services and Unemployment Insurance information technology required to identify and serve the needs of such claimants.

  • Tier I: Alternative Base Period: Eligibility based upon wages earned during the four most recently completed calendar quarters.
  • Tier II: Adoption of two of the following four eligibility cases: seeking part time work; not disqualified due to compelling family reasons; additional weeks of benefits if individual enters certain training programs; or payment of a dependent allowance of at least $15.00.
  • Nebraska will receive additional federal funds to administer unemployment insurance programs including the additional benefits provided or proposed under ARRA.
